Flaine is a contemporary, integrated ski resort. The centre is pedestrian only and you can easily ski out of your accommodation. All amenities are within easy reach of your accommodation.
Flaine, an integrated and sustainable resort
The ski resort of Flaine was designed by Marcel Breuer, a renowned architect who respected the natural site by integrating the buildings harmoniously. Flaine is a museum of contemporary art open to all with works by Picasso, Vasarely and Dubuffet. Many buildings are classified as historical monuments. The resort is particularly well equipped with restaurants, bars, food, childcare and babysitters.
This pioneering resort in terms of sustainable development is equipped with town gas and the entire electricity network is underground. Biodiversity has been the subject of an environmental observatory since 2007. Its aim is to take stock of and monitor the evolution of the landscape, fauna and flora.
The Flaine ski area
The Flaine ski area has a total of 265 km of runs, linking the following areas: Morillon, Les Carroz, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à -Cheval. It constitutes the Grand Massif. Flaine is one of the major resorts in the Alps. The high altitude of the resort guarantees a very important snow cover, with more than 4 metres of snow at the end of the season at an altitude of 2 500 metres.
New forms of skiing are in the spotlight with the Flaine Jampark. This area is a favourite with freestylers. Free sessions are regularly organised. The Combe de Gers descent offers 800 metres of vertical drop in remarkable powder snow. The Nordic area of the Col de Pierre Carrée, at an altitude of 1900 m, is accessible by a free shuttle for cross-country skiing enthusiasts.
