Les Gets is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area. It includes 12 resorts spread over France and Switzerland, with over 650 km of pistes. Les Gets is a family resort that offers a wide range of activities in both summer and winter.
Les Gets, between lake and mountain
The ski resort of Les Gets is located between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. The buildings, of traditional architecture, welcome you in summer and winter. Although the resort has developed well, it still retains its Savoyard style. The centre of the village has shops, bars and restaurants. The old village with its beautiful church is just 5 minutes away. Finally, the Turche district is more recent and includes shops, accommodation and direct access to the ski area.
There are a dozen or so high altitude restaurants with ski in/ski out access. In the resort, we recommend taking a break at theAprèski to enjoy local specialities and music. It is a very popular place to have fun after a good day on the slopes. For the first round of the 2022 presidential election, the resort was selling its ski pass for €1 to everyone who had done their civic duty.
Les Gets ski area
You leave the village on skis to reach the two areas with 650 km of pistes: Les Chavannes, which is linked to the Portes du Soleil, and Mont Chéry, which offers a unique panorama of Mont Blanc. The first area is more suitable for families. It has fun zones and areas reserved for children and beginners. The second area is the preferred side for experienced skiers with two slalom areas and a snowpark.
If you are new to downhill skiing, Les Gets offers the Mappys reserved area. It allows you to practice your skiing on a gentle slope, in complete safety and at a distance from experienced skiers. This area is free.
The Grand Cry area is for children aged 5 to 12. It offers a course with a mini-slalom, bumps and a decoration inspired by trappers and Indians. The cross-country skiing area of Les Gets is made up of 25 km of double track and skating trails. Access is via the two downhill ski areas.
