Choose a skatepark in Annecy
Annecy is well equipped with skateparks, depending on your level and your preferences, it’s up to you to choose to practice skateboarding, BMX, rollerblading or scootering. The practice of the historical spot in front of the Hôtel de Ville is no longer tolerated by the municipal police due to the modification of the cycle track.
The Annecy Bowl
This is a large quality park with a surface area of 750 m². Surely the most complete in Annecy, with bowls and street. The equipment is suitable for all levels. The spectators will not be disappointed either, because the show is there with a very good level. Victim of its success, the Bowl is often very crowded, so it is better to come in the morning. After a good effort, you can go for a swim at the Marquisats beach located just opposite. A“Marquisat Jam” competition is organised in early September.
Every year, the Annecy Board Club (ABC) organises its Skate Contest. The programme includes demonstrations on the bowl but also on the street. More than 80 participants from all over France, aged from 10 to 37, attract more than 3,000 spectators for this contest which takes place in mid-September. Skateboarding was on the programme of the Olympic Games in Japan in 2021.
In 2021, Le Bowl celebrated its 20th anniversary with a focus on street and bowl skating. The programme included a contest with the different categories followed by the “street for cash” (the best tricks win immediate prizes) and finally the final with the challenge on the blocks.

The skatepark of Annecy-le-Vieux
To skate or rollerblade in Annecy, one immediately thinks of the Bowl, but the concrete park of Annecy-le-Vieux is a good surprise. It is a rather technical but very complete facility. It is limited in size and therefore not suitable for BMX.

The Glaisins skatepark
The spot measures 684 m², it is quite complete with a quarter, an inclined plane, a double step, a half-pyramid with a ledge and a jumping table with a side rail.
Practical information: free access, no lighting, no water point, address: Route de Thônes, 74 940 Annecy-le-Vieux. The spark is located next to the Glaisins sports area.
The Bowl of Seynod
This facility includes a 204 m² bowl and a 235 m² street area. The condition is excellent, a good level is noted, but beginners are welcome to progress. The park is located opposite the Espace Culture de Seynod. This spot is recommended for skateboarding.

The skatepark of Cran-Gevrier
This park has practical composite modules for beginners. The bowl is not very deep but nice to ride. The spokes are quite steep but you get used to them. Its size is quite small: 120 m². Next to the bowl you will find a quarter, a jumping table and a pitcher.

Rules to respect in a skatepark
You want to have a good time with friends, get to know each other and progress in skateboarding, BMX or scooter. You have to respect some safety rules.
- Wait your turn, you must respect the other riders who are waiting. So nosnaking.
- Understand the lines of the skatepark. If you are new to the spot, you should take the time to observe the main lines by looking at how the locals practice.
- Before jumping in, look at both sides. It is useless to “drop” thinking that the others will let you pass. Be patient and respect the participants.
- Do not sit on the curbs and on top of the lines, these elements of the skatepark are often used. This creates a bad atmosphere and hinders the riders.
- Do not ride in a circle in the middle of the skatepark or at the bottom of the bowl. This bad practice cuts all the lines of the other riders.
- Finally, it is of course compulsory to wear joint protectors and a helmet.
All the skateparks in Annecy are equipped with bins, they are not there for the decoration of the site, you must throw away your waste.
Skateboarding on the Pâquier
The city of Annecy has set up a shared area to skate with the lake in the background. It is located on the Jacquet promenade on the Pâquier. This is the large asphalt section that connects the prefecture to the lakeside. This space is shared between pedestrians, cyclists and skaters during July and August.
