The Saisies Nature Reserve
The resort of Les Saisies has a Nature Reserve that should not be missed. This natural and protected site is over 10,000 years old and is unique in the Alps. The peat bog in question lies between 1,550 and 1,718 metres. It is 290 hectares in size, the largest in the Alps, and is all that remains from the last ice age. Its presence is due to a glacial tongue that passed through the Col des Saisies.
Classified as a nature reserve in 2013, it is possible to access it in summer as well as in winter. You simply have to respect the biodiversity that is present in this peat bog. Explanatory booklets are available at the Tourist Office.
Les Saisies ski area
The ski area of Les Saisies is part of the Espace Diamant. It represents 192 kilometres of slopes to be skied with family or friends, with 81 ski lifts and 157 slopes, from green to black. The Espace Diamant links Les Saisies to the resorts of Praz-sur-Arly, Notre-Dame de Bellecombe, Flumet, Hauteluce and Crest-Voland Cohennoz.
For those who prefer to stay in Les Saisies, you can enjoy 77 kilometres of pistes. The advantage is that the resort is suitable for all levels.

The Pierra Menta
With a surface area of 65 m², the Pierra Menta chalet can accommodate up to 6 people. It has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Once out of the chalet, you can simply put on your skis and head to the slopes.

Chalet B is located 500 metres from the Espace Diamant ski slopes. You will enjoy 160 m² and a nice terrace with a unique view on the surrounding mountains. The accommodation includes 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. You will also have access to a ski room.
Winter sports
In Les Saisies, you can ski, but not only. Cross-country skiing is also an institution in the resort, which connoisseurs call “Little Norway”. The resort opens its doors between November and April, depending on snow conditions. There are 120 kilometres of runs, spread out between 1,650 and 1,720 metres above sea level. All levels of skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the Saisies Nordic ski area, which is one of the highest in Europe.
In parallel, other activities can be done during the winter season in Les Saisies. These include ski touring, snowmobiling and dog sledding.

Clara Direz
Born in 1995 in Sallanches, Clara Direz has been a member of the Les Saisies ski club since she was a child. In 2012, the young skier won a gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games. The same year, she reached the podium in the European Cup. She then joined the French Alpine Ski Team and has several top 30 finishes to her credit.

Julia Simon
Julia Simon is a biathlete who cut her teeth in Les Saisies. She achieved her first World Cup podium in 2019, when she finished third in the 15 km individual race in Östersund. She went on to win silver at the Beijing Olympics and four World Cup biathlon titles.

Justine Braisaz
Biathlete Justine Braisaz is from Les Saisies. Very quickly, she was noticed because of her speed on skis. The Frenchwoman made her first World Cup start in the 2013-2014 season. At the age of 20, she achieved her first individual podium. In 2017, she won the mass-start in Grand-Bornand. After numerous podiums, Justine Braisaz was crowned Olympic champion in 2022, during the mass-start.

The resort of Les Saisies organises events throughout the year. We suggest you to discover two of them, which take place during the winter season.
The Diamant Cup
The Diamant Cup is a team enduro. The event takes place on the whole Espace Diamant and allows you to discover it in a more playful way. You will have the possibility to start from Les Saisies, but also from the other resorts of the ski area. During the day, you will be able to do a slalom, a Big Air or a giant and a biathlon.
The Étoile des Saisies
The Étoile des Saisies is a Nordic ski competition that has become a must in Les Saisies. Popular, it usually closes the season and allows you to discover the Olympic site of the resort. Races of 10, 21 and 42 kilometres are proposed.
Ski passes
Several ski passes are available in Les Saisies. Before choosing one, we recommend that you determine the length of your stay and your wishes. Then, you can choose the one allowing you to access the whole Espace Diamant or the one limited to Les Saisies. Stay-over offers are also available.

Snowshoeing itineraries
In Les Saisies, you will find 7 snowshoe itineraries. They are all marked, but not groomed. They are spread over 37 kilometres. If you don’t have the right equipment, it is possible to rent it directly in the shop.
In parallel, the resort offers 6 footpaths, over 22 kilometres. They are both groomed and marked. Three chairlifts and a gondola lift are available to access them.

Ideas for summer activities
Les Saisies is a 4 season resort. Many activities can be done during the summer. We suggest you discover some of them:

Cycling. The resort of Les Saisies is labelled by the FFC as a “Espace Cyclosport”. It must be said that the Beaufortain has nearly 600 kilometres of routes, all disciplines included.

The Mountain Twister. This 4 season sled is mounted on rails. If you have already been to Les Saisies, you could not have missed it. The activity is about 800 metres long and offers 360° and 540° twists.

Paragliding. This activity is a must when staying in Haute-Savoie. It will allow you to discover the landscape from a new angle, via tandem flights. Just remember to book the activity well in advance, as it is very popular in summer.

Access and public transport
It is easy to get to Les Saisies, notably because of the proximity of the Albertville train station or airports such as Geneva and Chambéry. You can also get to Les Saisies by car. In winter, just remember to bring special equipment and winter tyres. Parking is easy once you arrive.
